NWLA Artist Directory

THE NORTHWEST LOUISIANA ARTISTS’ DIRECTORY is a project of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. The Northwest Louisiana (Region 7) Artists’ Directory is designed to recognize artists from all art disciplines and media in Northwest Louisiana. The opportunities, guidelines, and online application associated with the Northwest Louisiana Artists Directory can be found on the Shreveport Regional Arts Council website (www.shrevearts.org). 

It is the only multi-disciplinary on-line artist database in Northwest Louisiana. The registry is a tool to promote the work of visual, performing, and literary artists living in Northwest Louisiana. This valuable resource provides a platform for artist to connect with curators, organizations, architects, developers, community organizations, and businesses.  

ELIGIBILITY

Participation in the Directory is free of charge.

The artist must have established residence in and must have lived at least 12 consecutive months in one of the 10 parishes in Northwest Louisiana (Region 7). Parishes include: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Desoto, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster.

Artists of all disciplines and at all career levels, from emerging to professional are welcome.

The artist must complete the Northwest Louisiana Juried Artists’ Directory application: Including the submission of an Artist Statement, Resume’ and Samples of work in accordance to submission requirements in the Directory Application.

All artists must be at least 21 years of age.

Artist must agree to terms of service to be accepted to the Northwest Louisiana Artists’ Directory.

CAN ONE ARTIST BE LISTED AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND A GROUP?

Yes, if you are an individual artist as well as part of a group, then you would be required to submit two different applications to the registry – one as an individual artist with examples of your individual work and another as a group with examples of the group’s work.

Frequently Asked Questions

ARE ARTIST APPLICATIONS REVIEWED?

All applications to the directory go live on the website immediately upon completion of the application.  Following the application process, a staff member of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council will review all applications to determine that all applicant information was included in the application process, that the support materials are consistent with the descriptions provided, and to ensure that the submissions are compatible with the purpose of the directory.  Questions about applications will be directed to artists from staff via email.

WHO CAN USE THE NORTHWEST LOUISIANA ARTISTS’ DIRECTORY?

The directory is an on-line resource that is open and free to the public. They key audiences are arts organizations, arts presenters, curators, designers, artists, architects, developers, community groups, and businesses.  Please review our Terms of Use and Privacy Statements before using the DIRECTORY.
 

IS THERE A FEE TO USE THE DIRECTORY
There is no cost to artists to join the DIRECTORY and no cost to browse the directory.
 

HOW DOES AN ARTIST JOIN THE DIRECTORY?

There are five steps to the application:

·         Create an Account

·         Complete the Application Form

·         Input and Upload Artist Statement and Bio/Resume

·         Upload work samples

·         Review and Approval of Application by Arts Resource Center Coordinator
